Basic Income Irelands third annual Summer Forum will take place in The Carmelite Community Centre, Aungier St, Dublin, from 10am to 4pm on Saturday June
11th 2016.
The forum is a good chance to meet basic income advocates, learn more about basic income, and to contribute own ideas. In the morning, the theme will be "Basic Income for
Men and Women".
The discussion will be how a universal, sufficient and unconditional basic income could help us all -- women and men -- have richer choices about how to live
our lives creatively and with greater equality. Our key speaker will be Barb Jacobsen (Basic Income UK) and among those responding to her as well as presenting their own thoughts will be Ursula
Barry and Maggie Feeley (UCD School of Social Policy, Social Work and Social Justice) and Shane Fitzgerald (We’re Not Leaving).
In the afternoon, the focus will be how to progress the cause of basic income in Ireland, using a participative Open Space-type process. The event is free
of charge but we would ask those who can afford it to make a donation on the day to help cover the cost of room hire and refreshments.
